Call for Proposals for another cohort of National Multiplication Trainings (NMT) 2021-2022
08/03/2021

The joint Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK), together with the University of Potsdam in Germany launches Call for Proposals for another cohort of National Multiplication Trainings (NMT).

The NMT programme is designed to support alumni of DIES training courses from Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia to conduct trainings for higher education managers and academics (non DIES alumni) in their own country or region. Depending on the topic, participants in the courses may be deans, head of department or higher education practitioners in central or decentralized university departments and positions (International Office, Quality Assurance, etc.).

The following criteria must be met to apply for participation in the DIES NMT 2021-2022 cohort:

  • Form a training committee of three to four persons - The alumna/alumnus who completed a DIES training course in May 2019 or later, will be lead applicant.
  • If DIES training courses were completed earlier, alumna/alumnus may apply as a team member.
  • Non-DIES graduates may join the training team. However, more than half of the team members must be DIES alumni.

It is suggested that DIES alumni from different training programs submit the proposal together. External expertise can be brought by European and/or regional experts.

The topics of the trainings should be based on the DIES training courses and thus in the areas of:

  • Faculty Management,
  • Project Management, Financial Management, and Human Resource Management,
  • Quality Assurance including Curriculum Development, and/or
  • Internationalisation.

Please note: The topic of proposal writing is not part of the current Call for Proposals. As such alumni from the DIES training course "ProGRANT " cannot apply as lead applicant. However, there will be an upcoming offer from the University of Cologne (https://portal.uni-koeln.de/international/im-fokus/dies-progrant).

A tentative timeline is listed below:

April 30, 2021 - Deadline for proposal submission.

Late May/early June 2021 - Selection results.

August/September 2021 - Workshop Training of trainers.

October 2021 to November 2022 - Implementation of multiplication trainings in target regions.

July 2023 - Closing workshop.
