ANNOUNCEMENT
Regarding the requirement for ethics committee approval for research topics in theses, projects, and dissertations
Pursuant to Circular No. 43/2024/TT-BYT dated December 12, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Health on the establishment, organization, and operation of Ethics Committees in biomedical research.
The Postgraduate Training Department hereby informs all postgraduate students that approval by an Ethics Committee (Biomedical Ethics) is mandatory for research topics related to theses, projects, and dissertations.
Graduation eligibility will be denied in cases where students do not obtain an official Decision or Letter of Approval/Permission from the Ethics Committee for their research.
Timeline and submission location for ethics approval dossiers:

Submission time: After the research topic is approved and the advisor is assigned by the University Board of Rectors or Faculty/Department/Center leadership.

Dossier contents: The dossier must follow the guidelines set by the Office of Science and Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (Download form at: ĐỀ TÀI NGHIÊN CỨU\Cấp cơ sở\Biểu mẫu\Hướng dẫn và biểu mẫu thông qua Hội đồng đạo đức trong nghiên cứu y sinh học) or as per the regulations of the healthcare.

Submission location: Submit to the Office of Science and Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC, or to an authorized healthcare institution with a legally approved Ethics Committee at the research site.
