The NCKU series of Weekly Webinars will continue with the topic: "Pathogenesis of Dengue Virus Infection"
Introduction: Dengue is one of the most important mosquito-borne human viral diseases in the world. As of today, there are no antiviral drugs or effective vaccines that can treat or prevent the disease. Majority of effected individuals are asymptomatic or mild illness, even though a few subjects may progress to the severe conditions , dengue hemorrhagic fever. The exact factors leading to severe dengue have not been cleared defined. Hopefully with the new scientific research outcomes, a better understanding of the pathogenic cause of severe dengue could be delineated, paving a way for antiviral drug or effective vaccine developments.
